This month our topic is ‘Seasons’, the children will be learning about the four seasons and different weathers. To support the children’s learning, all rooms will be doing a variety of activities throughout the month.
If your child attends our baby or Tweenie rooms, please ensure you provide us with a drinking cup for them to use at nursery. Please do not put juice in them or we will need to dispose of the contents as we are only encouraging children to drink water whilst in nursery.
We are very proud to announce that our kitchen has been awarded a 5* rating for our food and hygiene standards. We would like to congratulate the kitchen staff team for all their hard work.
The weather is warming up, please can parents provide your child with a summer hat, particularly as they may spend longer periods of time in the garden. We will be providing Nivea sun cream (factor 50) for all children. Parents will be asked to sign a letter to authorise us to apply the cream. If your child requires another form of sun cream, parents will have to provide this with their child’s name clearly labelled on it.
Our next parent committee meeting will be taking place on Tuesday 30th May. If you are interested in becoming a member, please email the office.
In March we had Zoo lab visiting us and all of the children appeared to thoroughly enjoy seeing a variety of mini beasts. The children were given the opportunity to hold and or touch the creatures.Red nose day
We would just like to say a very big thank you to all our parents who supported Red nose day by participating in our cake sale and to all the children/parents who guessed the amount of sweets in the jar. As a nursery we successfully raised £160.65 for the charity. Thank you all for your generosity.
On Thursday 13th April we will be having an Easter Bonnet parade and an Easter egg hunt for all the children. Support your child/children at home to make their own Easter bonnet for the parade. Encourage them to be as creative as possible.
There will be a prize for the parent of the child with the most creative bonnet.
Please can we remind parent to complete Wow cards for your children a t home and outside of the nursery. Blank WOW cards can be found displayed outside your child’s room.
We now have a comments and suggestions box in the hallway, and we would really appreciate your feedback. We invite you to use the box to post any suggestions and comments that you feel may further develop the care and standard of education within the nursery.
Sadly, we only have four parents who have shown an interest in coming to our games night on Friday 16th June 2017. Our reason for initiating the evening is so that parents have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with staff and other parents in a relaxed, fun environment. We will wait until Wednesday 14th June 2017 to see if any more of you want to come. If the numbers are still low, then we have decided not to ask staff members to give of their free time on this occasion. However, we will endeavour to organise another event in the future in the hope that more parents will be able to join us next time.
If you have any concerns of your child’s development, we will be holding a parents evening on Thursday 29th June 2017. We will be putting a sheet up for you to book your child’s time slot which will be located outside all rooms.
We are unfortunately having to postpone our fun day due to other festivities taking place on the same day. Therefore we are rescheduling the fair and it will now take place on Saturday 19th August 2017 at 1:00pm – 3:30pm.
We are pleased to announce that we will be offering the 30 hour funding as of September 2017.
